Once again... how can this school allow these kids to mock an entire culture of people? Why isn't this type of behavior held to the same standard as kids who would come to a ball game in black face?

2014, September 26th - Because teaching kids to mock an entire culture is a tradition at Morris Community High School!

Morris Community High School (Illinois)  loves their Indians. The school is over 90% white, and the American Indians make up less than 1% in their town, but they have decided NOT to change their ways unless they absolutely have to. Of course they say things like "It's a pride thing." "We're proud of American Indians." And, "I don't think the name offends anybody," though they KNOW that the name carries the weight of a controversy, so therefore, it must offend someone... right?

5 schools in Illinois use the nickname "Redskins," and about 70 nationwide.

This school goes all out by ways of stereotyping and teaching their students cultural insensitivity and prejudice. They do the Tomahawk Chop, have a live "Indian" as a mascot, and encourage their fans to use these stereotypes during the games.
