From the article:
"Now take a look at the grinning, bucktoothed, red-faced Indian adorning the clothing and caps of the Cleveland Indians. If this was a caricature of a "Little Black Sambo" the African American baseball players now sporting this obscenity on their hats would be highly insulted.
During the football season not a Sunday goes by when the fanatical fans of the Washington Redskins and the Kansas City Chiefs do not insult the spirituality, culture and traditions of the First Americans. Are the students or faculty of Notre Dame offended by these actions? Not on your life. When a Redskin fan beats a drum with the Sacred Pipe (the Bible of the American Indian) or mimics the attire, song and dance of the different tribes, not a word is written by the mainstream press and not a single Notre Dame affiliate speaks out against these obvious acts of bigotry."
