Lone Star Dietz - you know, the fella the Washington Redskins (W.R.) and their supporters said the "Redskins" was named in honor of, whom they said created the logo, designed this and that... and the W.R. held in such high esteem. Well here's 4 copies of his obituary. Two mention - very briefly - his short stint with George Marshall's team, while the other two don't mention it at all. And in no place (and believe me, I looked) did Marshall or anyone else pay any type of tribute to him, nor did they ever work on anything after Dietz left the team. It, again, goes to prove that Lone Star wasn't all that important to the Redskins, and definitely wasn't honored or inspired by them.
And in this one, not even a mention...
