News Record: College Weighs Keeping Indian Mascot  - Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State University might stick with its traditional American Indian nicknames, Indians (men) and Otahkians (women). They are considering a new mascot, replacing Chief Sagamore and Princess Otahki, but don't want "some sort of silly character" as an Indian mascot. "It would have to be culturally accurate," said university president Dale Nitzchke.
