FREEPORT — In an emailed statement, Brazosport ISD officials say they have no plans to change Freeport Intermediate School’s mascot from the Redskins.

“The mascot at Freeport Intermediate is part of the school’s history and a tradition we would not consider changing without first collaborating with our community,” the district said in an emailed statement. “At this time, the district has not initiated any community discussions regarding this topic.”
